The Time Has Come

Well, it is here. I have decided to go private. Since the majority of my posts are about McCoy I think it is best to know who is viewing my photos and information. So please leave me your email address as a comment (I promise to delete the comment once I get the email address so it isn't out there for anyone to write down.) Just so you know, I am probably the biggest blog stalker. So when there are people that I know, but not very well (through the grape-vine), that go private and they say to give your email address, I am always tentative to give mine because I'm afraid they'll think I'm crazy. (Actually, I even get tentative with people that I do know well. That's what I get for being kind of shy) Anyway... So I am going to say the same; even if I don't know you very well - but you check my blog often, know me from a long time ago, or know me through someone else, please leave me your email address (Don't be scared - like me). It would be nice to know those who have been viewing our blog. Sorry for this inconvenience, but it will make me feel a lot safer.

3 Months and growing!

McCoy is growing too fast! On the 5th he turned 3 months old. He is so much fun these days. Over the last while he has been really interested in his hands and arms. He would lay and just watch his arm move and his fingers move around. Over the holidays he started to grab toys and things. It has been so fun! He loves to touch faces and grab at his toys on his play mat. He is also starting to giggle some. It makes my day just to see the smile on his little face. He loves his bath time. He kicks and moves his arms like crazy! It is hilarious to watch him. He is starting a phase where everything goes into his mouth. If it is remotely close to his mouth, it ends up in his mouth. Most days you will see at least one of his hands in his mouth. It isn't just a finger or thumb, he tries to fit the whole fist in there. We are loving each phase of his life and we are trying to just enjoy all the changes. He has also been trying to roll around a lot. He will roll on his side from his back and get his legs over but hasn't quite figured out how to get his upper body over. Yesterday he rolled from his stomach to his back twice. He is such a happy little guy. If you smile at him you will get a smile back. He loves his daddy. His little face lights up the second Jeff comes around and you can just tell that he thinks his dad is the funniest person. He loves to hear his voice and coos like crazy. He also thinks his tongue is pretty fun and ends up making bubbles that go down his chin.

Christmas, A Little Late

The holidays were so fun for us this year! It was so wonderful to be close to family. Unfortunately my camera was dead and since we moved everything around I have not been able to find my charger so I don't have many pictures.

Christmas Eve we had our usual family party at my parent's house. It all started at about 2. We ate a few snacks and played Would You Rather. It is a fun game! Next we had dinner. As usual it was delicious. It is tradition to have chicken cordon bleu, rice pilaf, layered salad and rolls for dinner. We also had banana cream pie and mini cheesecakes for dessert. After dinner we had a special visit from Santa Claus! The kids loved it! Each child was given a stocking with some fun presents inside. We then opened some presents. We each have another couple to buy for and the cousins have another cousin to buy for. It was fun to have McCoy this year and be able to buy for a cousin. Ju Ju and Bracken had Jeff and me. I received a cute sweater, earrings and some sunglasses. Jeff received a brown polo and a beanie, both are things he wears often. We also open presents from my parents. McCoy and the other little boys received these fun trucks that they can use to sort shapes, scoop up shapes, learn to walk with and ride. My parents gave us some wonderful presents but the best probably being some starts for 72 hour kits. We have wanted to make some 72 hour kits for a long time but have not taken the time to do it. My parents realize that it is something that none of the families have done and know how important they are. It was a very fun party and so great to have the entire family together for the holiday this year.

Christmas morning we woke up around 8 and opened presents. As a family present Jeff found Rock Band for an awesome price. It definitely took up quite a bit of our time for the next few days. We each picked out a present for each other from McCoy. Jeff picked out the cd Mamma Mia for me. My sister-in-law Erica had taken some pictures of McCoy and me and I chose my favorite, printed it and put it in a frame for Jeff's desk. He told me that it was his favorite present. We just relaxed the rest of the day. Due to the snow we didn't think it was a very good idea to travel far. We did end up going over to Ju Ju and Bracken's house for dinner though. They were so nice to have us and my parents over. She made a ham, some cheesy potatoes and a veggie. My mom brought over rolls, a cheese ball and banana cream pie. We played Mad Gab, boys vs girls and it was so fun!

Saturday we had the Erickson Family Christmas Party. It is always the Saturday after Christmas. The entire family gets together, Mel's kids and Annette's kids. It is quite the houseful but always so fun! During the blessing on the food McCoy decided that since it was nice and quite he should poop. It was so loud and many of us couldn't stop laughing! We each brought a potluck dish and had a very tasty dinner. Every year we bring a $5 present and have a gift exchange. It is the classic game where you can steal another person's gift but can only have 3 owners. We ended up with some Sham Wow cloths, a mini tripod for our camera and a memory card for a cell phone with the adapter to put into our laptop. Mel and Annette gave each family rechargable lamp. It is to go with our 72 hour kits. We love getting together with everyone!

As for New Year's, we are quite boring. Jeff and I usually don't stay up until midnight. We don't go to any exciting parties, we usually just hang out at home. This year we went to dinner at Red Robin, stopped by to visit Jeff's sister Lynn and then came home. My biggest thing is that McCoy has been on such a good schedule and I'm afraid to mess it up. I know I need to relax! When we came home we put McCoy to bed, watched a show and played Friends Scene It. I almost made it to midnight but decided I was too tired and went to bed at 11:30.

Sorry for the long post. There is so much to catch up on.
